The children love their after school cricket sessions with Pete. They all respect him and have a great relationship with him too. Pete always makes every session enjoyable and meaningful. He always takes great care with the children and thinks about their individual needs, building up their self-esteem and enabling them to succeed in whichever task he wants them to do, whilst having fun!

We had Pete into our school to improve our children’s striking and fielding skills and encourage the love of cricket. The children responded extremely well to Pete – he explained things very clearly and focused on perfecting key skills before applying these to games. The games involved the entire class therefore no standing around. The children’s love of cricket improved dramatically which was evidenced in the annual PE questionnaires.

Pete was my son’s U9’s cricket coach at Upperthong Cricket Club but I have also known him in my capacity as Club Secretary.
At all times I have found Pete to be both knowledgeable & enthusiastic. He pays equal attention to all ages and abilities and encourages the children to do their very best. He keeps the interest of even the youngest going, whose attention spans aren’t always the longest. I know he has played a huge part in my son’s skill and enthusiasm for the sport. Pete coached my daughter Amy at cricket from the age of 5 through to 9 at Upperthong Cricket Club, she is now 14 and still plays the game, representing the local girls team, Upperthong boys under 15s and the West Yorkshire girls team.
I firmly believe that this is largely due to the way Pete coached her and the other children from the age of 5, through making the sessions inclusive, interactive, fun and highly enjoyable for all the children, whilst developing the cricketing skills of the children irrespective of their gender or ability.

Pete coached my daughter Ella from the age of 6 for over 3 years and in that time I can only say that his dedication to the group of children he was coaching was nothing short of 100%.He made the sessions varied, structured and fun and there is no doubt from a personal point of view he helped develop Ella into a good all round cricketer, who has since gone onto be selected for Yorkshire at county level.
