Pete announces school holiday indoor children’s cricket camps at Ripon Grammar School, North Yorkshire
Pete’s Cricket Camps – 2025/26 School Holidays
Pete is delighted to confirm that his popular children’s cricket camps will be running again during the 2026 school holidays. For Pete’s Easter indoor camps see below.
Weds 18 Feb sold out and last year the Easter dates all sold out too so please don’t leave it too long to book. Pete will be happy to have a waiting list so please email him at petekeighleycricketcoaching@gmail.com to add your child’s name. Please don’t ask Pete to “squeeze one more in” as he won’t be able to without breaching child safeguarding ratios.

What a Typical Day Looks Like
Arrival:
Children register and begin group catching activities as everyone arrives.
Welcome & introductions:
Name stickers are given out (especially helpful for new campers), followed by a short chat about the day’s plan and the importance of encouraging each other.
Warm Up:
A warm up game/activity is then undertaken. Children often like to be with a particular person so we take the time to organise any groups/teams so everyone feels comfortable and happy.
Skill sessions:
Children are split into 2–3 groups for coaching sessions covering:
- Batting
- Bowling
- Fielding and/or catching
We again take the time to organise groups so everyone feels comfortable and happy.
Progressive coaching:
Groups rotate through each activity. Skills start at an appropriate level and become more challenging as confidence grows. Extra challenges are available for children who want them.
Batting sessions are a favourite, especially using Pete’s thin (half-width) training bats!
Lunch break:
Snack and drink breaks are also held throughout the day. Children are regularly reminded to ask for water bottle refills.
Afternoon activities:
Children with their own hard-ball protective equipment can take part in a hard-ball net session (with a full safety briefing beforehand).
Children without hard-ball kit may still bowl in the nets if they wish.
Other children enjoy fun and engaging soft-ball games.
End-of-day game:
Activities finish around 2:30pm, followed by a final group batting game involving everyone. Children can borrow a bat if they don’t have their own.
Collection:
At 3:00pm, children sit together with their belongings. Pete releases children one at a time once the correct pick-up person is confirmed.
