Pete was so thrilled to receive this feedback for the work he does at Headingley for the Yorkshire Cricket Foundation on their Cricket in the Classroom day aimed at year 5/6 children. Some children from the school even went home to Wakefield and persuaded their parents to drive them straight.
Every child at Pete’s half term camp at Rainton CC found out how fast they can throw the ball – both hard ball and soft ball players seemed to enjoy that.
Pete started a junior section at Rainton CC in 2017 that practices from 6pm on a Monday evening during the season. The club entered teams in the Theakston Nidderdale Junior Cricket League for the first time in 2021 and put an under 11 (years 5 and 6) eight a side.
To continue its progress the club is having built a new double bay practice net facility. Planning permission was approved by Harrogate Council in April 2021 and a grant funding request was submitted to FCC Communities Foundation in May 2021. The club is delighted to say that this was approved.

Pete had 12 size brand new 5 plastic bats that he got in a Sports Direct sale that he had no use for as he has got plenty of kit. So he offered them out for free on his Facebook page and they have all gone either to a keen.
Pete has just had an e mail from a local primary school that he has worked with since 2015, where Pete’s regular sports lead contact is leaving the school at the end of this term. The teacher wanted to check on the sessions already booked in for summer 2022 and.
As a group of children were waiting to be picked up by their parents after the last cricket camp at Ripon Grammar School Pete asked them what they liked best about the camp. Two said “the last game”, another then said “everything” and then the rest said “everything”! Pete was.
Pete was delighted to have around 30 children attend his half term cricket camp at Ripon Grammar School.
